TAM.Gallery is pleased to invite you to the opening reception of its 5th edition of SOLOS IN PARALLEL, dedicated to the works of artists Lina Mowafy and Mohammed Jamal Bassiouni, on Saturday 20th of March at 12:00 PM.
Featuring new collections by two artists in parallel, this exhibition aims to take you on a journey between two contrasting worlds at the same time.
Lina Mowafy’s latest body of work is a direct interpretation of the artist’s life. In her new collection "Mistress of Life", the artist set out to create art that evokes liberation, joy and vulnerability. She seeks to reflect the diversity of her everyday life experiences and emotions. Identified by her bold lines and a vivacious palette, she often creates scenes that are exuberant and multi-dimensional.
Revered for his richly patterned body of work, Jamal invokes the full power of colors by pulling themes from nature and history and turning them into an intricate visual web. In addition to being intensely inspired by Ancient Egyptian Art, Bassiouni's works often resemble the exquisite beauty of symmetry and the wondrous patterns of the universe.
Jamal's new collection "Deshret" consists of several clusters of works that combine painting and sculpture. They focus on the influence of modernity on the set of known beliefs of Ancient Egyptians. "Deshret" was the formal name for the Red Crown of Lower Egypt and for the desert Red Land on either side of Kemet (Black Land), the fertile Nile river basin. When combined with the Hedjet (White Crown) of Upper Egypt, it forms the Pschent (Double Crown), in ancient Egyptian called the sekhemti. Bassiouni's collection highlights the connections between the symbolism of ancient and modern inscriptions, while creating a perception of future symbolism."

يسر تام جاليري دعوتكم لإفتتاح النسخة الخامسة من معرض ”Solos in Parallel“ للفنانين لينه موافي و جمال بسيوني و الذي سيقام بقاعة الجاليري يوم السبت الموافق ٢٠ مارس، ٢٠٢١ في تمام الساعة الثانية عشر ظهراً و حتى السابعة مساءاً.
يضم هذا المعرض مجموعتان مختلفتان من الأعمال الجديدة للفنانين بهدف أخد المتفرج في رحلة بين عالمين مختلفين متزاويين.
تعتبر مجموعة ”خليلة الحياة“ للفنانة لينه موافي إنعكاس مباشر لحياتها، فشرعت في إبتكار لوحات تثير أحاسيس التحرر والفرح وأيضاً ضعف المشاعر أحياناً، لتعكس للمتفرج تنوع تجاربها اليومية ومشاعرها المختلفة. من خلال خطوطها الجريئة و ألوانها المفعمة بالحيوية، تخلق لينه مشاهد حية ومتعددة الأبعاد.
تتكون مجموعة ”دشرت“ لجمال بسيوني من أعمال تصوير و نحت مكملة لبعضها البعض، عاكسةً لتأثير الحداثة على معتقدات القدماء المصريين. ”دشرت“ كان الاسم الرسمي للتاج الأحمر لـ مصر السفلى وللأرض الحمراء الصحراوية على جانبي وادي النيل. عندما يقترن دشرت (التاج الأحمر) بـ هيدجيت التاج الأبيض لـ مصر العليا ، فإنه يشكل بشينت (التاج المزدوج)، في اللغة المصرية القديمة يسمى سيكمتي. وتسلط مجموعة بسيوني الضوء على الروابط بين رموز النقوش القديمة والرموز الأكثر حداثة و المعاصرة بينما يخلق تصوراً للرمزية المستقبلية. فيستحضر القوة الكاملة للألوان من خلال تصوير مجموعات من الطبيعة و التاريخ و تحويلها إلى شبكة بصرية معقدة.
