Sameh Refaat is an Egyptian artist born in 1976. He holds a bachelor degree in Fine Arts from Helwan University in Cairo and is also a member of the Egyptian Syndicate of Fine Artists. He works in his own studio at Cairo focusing solely on his art. The artist derives inspiration from various elements in nature, old spaces, landscapes , ancient Egyptian heritage , Arabic motifs , calligraphy and arts history .
Sameh's work is tends towards abstraction that is created spontaneously without preconception. He is, however, intentional in the chaos he creates, along with layers, textures and colors to define a moment in time and space. His intuition directs the artistic processes until a certain balance is achieved. Refaat works with different mediums, such as drawing, painting ,photography , digital painting and silkscreen printmaking.
He has participated in a variety art fairs at Egypt since the year 2000 till the current date. His work is part of private and corporate collections throughout Egypt and in private collections worldwide .
