Egyptian sculptor Eman Barakat works with natural, familiar materials such as bronze, marble, and granite, to create captivating sculpted forms. Preferring to work with natural, familiar material such as stone and metal to create his work, he conjures forms using both simple and abstract elements to focus on the beauty of shape itself. Barakat reveals the vitality of these forms and aims to build a dialogue between these elements overall.
Born in Giza, Egypt, in 1988, Barakat received a BA from the Sculpture Department of Faculty of Art Education in 2011 and subsequently completed his MA in 2018. Recent exhibitions that featured Barakat’s work include the Kyiv Sculpture Symposium (2019) and the Artists of Tomorrow group exhibition (2019). He was also awarded the Adam Henin Sculpture Award in 2019.
