We have the absolute pleasure of inviting you to the opening reception of “WOMAN, A MANIFESTO”, a women-led group exhibition taking place this Sunday, 19th of March, 2023 at TAM Gallery’s venue in Abu Rawwash; starting 6:00 PM and until 10:00 PM.

Throughout the history of art, women have often been represented as subjects، muses, and sources of inspiration rather than creative forces behind the artwork. Although the turn of the century brought more freedom to expression worldwide, female artists of the region and Egypt specifically had to work to gain new agency within the last 100 years to truly vocalise their views through art. 

In celebration of the arrival of spring, International Women’s Month, and Mother’s Day; and with a sense of agency and confidence through their art; 25 women artists have chosen to address important topics of the self, society, and life at large through this exhibition.

يسرنا دعوتكم إلى افتتاح المعرض الجماعي “WOMAN, A MANIFESTO”، والذي يقام يوم الأحد ١٩ مارس، ٢٠٢٣ في صالة العرض الخاصة بتام جاليري في أبو رواش من الساعة ٦ وحتى ١٠ مساءاً.

عبر عصور الفن المختلفة، غالبًا ما كان يتم تمثيل النساء كموضوعات أو مصدر إلهام ولكن وليس كقوى إبداعية وراء العمل الفني. وعلى الرغم من أن بداية القرن العشرين كانت قد جلبت المزيد من الحرية للتعبير في جميع أنحاء العالم،  كان على فنانات الشرق الأوسط ومصر على وجه التحديد أن يجاهدن للتواجد على الخريطة الفن التشكيلي خلال أكثر من  مائة عام الماضية حتى يتمكنَّ من التعبير عن أنفسهن وآرائهن من خلال الفن.

احتفالاً بقدوم الربيع والشهر العالمي للمرأة وعيد الأم؛ اختارت ٢٥ فنانة تشكيلية تناول موضوعات مهمة عن الذات والمجتمع والحياة بشكل عام بحس من القيادة والثقة من خلال هذا المعرض.
