Yasser Gad was born in Cairo in 1969. He graduated from the University of Ein Shams in Antiquity Studies. He is a an artist and a researcher with a specific focus on modern and contemporary Egyptian art practices.
Gad's art depicts a unique subjective view of societal, environmental and sociological occurrences; enriched by both his personal, poetic viewpoints and a solid academic background. Gad's detailed and intricate architectural paintings draw deeper metaphorical meanings through his portrayal of structures; such as his illustration of life's trials as a series of failures and achievements in his 'Stair Series, 2017' and his depiction of solitude and simplicity in his 'Terzo Series , 2019' Gad is an experimentalist when it comes to the mediums he utilizes; from charcoal on cotton, to expert use of gold leaf in paints, his artworks are intricately layered in medium as well as meaning.
