Mona Gharib is an Egyptian sculptor born in Alexandria in 1984.She is currently an Associate Professor at the Faculty of Fine Arts, Alexandria University, Department of Sculpture, specializing in ceramic sculpture. She is a member of the Fine Artists Group in Alexandria and a member of the Group Alexandria Atelier. She has held a number of solo exhibitions in Alexandria and Cairo, and participated in group exhibitions locally and abroad. She has received many international and local awards, as well as represented Egypt in many technical forums as International fairs in Tunisia, Morocco, Taiwan and Austria.
The experience of the artist Mona Gharib depends on her interaction with the surrounding environment and the Egyptian cultural heritage as a catalyst that stimulates her creativity. Mona’s ceramic sculptures are characterized by being contemporary and at the same time emphasizing the Egyptian identity and heritage as an integral part of the whole current image of Egypt.
