Mohamed El Sharkawy is a maestro in depicting folk stories and the traditional life of Egypt, especially the countryside. Often incorporating gold leaf into his body of work, he adds a whimsical and intimate perspective to everyday life.
Born in Giza in 1980, El Sharkawy holds a BA in Art Education. He has participated in many exhibitions locally and internationally, and his work has been acquired by prominent collectors in Egypt and abroad.
Parallel to his career as an artist, Sharkawy is a pioneer in the field of art conservation and restoration of cultural properties and fine arts.
