Mai El-Haddad paints quiet domestic scenes, with her best works expressing warm contentment in life. Her love, though, of surface dazzle and texture has also become crucial, resulting in the transformation of the everyday elements depicted in her work into flattened, diaphanous elements. Her pieces are warm, intimate and colorful, and she always makes a show of glorious color harmonies, blues, violets, greens, with glowing pinks and oranges.
Born in Alexandria in 1983, El-Haddad graduated from the faculty of Fine Arts in 2005.
