TAM.Gallery is pleased to announce the gallery’s first exhibition dedicated to the work of Klay Kassem. One of our very own “Artists of Tomorrow”, Klay Kassem's work has since been loved by collectors as well as art enthusiasts. Klay’s unique persona and style make his work unlike any other; a delicate balance of ancient and contemporary, figurative and abstract, lucid and defined. His body of work is a commentary on Egyptian society. A lover of ancient Egyptian history, Kassem references the ideology using a progressive and contemporary style of painting to show his concept.
Klay Kassem was born in Alexandria in 1977 where he graduated from the Faculty of Fine Arts in 2000. He holds an MA and PHD in art studies. Kassem is currently located in Alexandria where he lectures at the Faculty of Fine Arts in Alexandria. His work has been featured in over 48 national exhibitions all over Egypt as well as 6 inter-national exhibitions in India, Paris and Muscat. Kassem is the recipient of 8 national art awards including the First prize at Nagy Salon, the Grand Prize in painting at the Port Said Biennale. A selection of his paintings are permanently exhibited at the Museum of Fine Arts in Helwan, the Contemporary Arts Museum in Luxor, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Culture in Cairo.
