“Bassalet El Moheb Kharouf” is a group exhibition of popular Arabic proverbs commonly used in everyday life. Proverbs represent the local culture and traditions and they originate from old traditional wisdom and tales being passed through generations. Thousands of them have been popularized by Egyptians throughout the ages, and they reflect their customs and traditions, living conditions, as well as their beliefs and values.
Participating artists choose and reinterpret a number of these traditional proverbs through a creative lens in their work, reflecting their personal take on their meanings and their lived experiences with them.

“Basalet El Moheb Kharouf”: A poplular proverb that means "An onion shared with a loved one, is as sharing a roast lamb. It emphasizes the significance of love in relationships; The “onion” is one of the simplest ingredients of any meal. If it is presented with love, in the eyes of the recipient, it is as if it were a “cooked lamb”.

يسر تام جاليري دعوتكم لإفتتاح المعرض الجماعي “بصلة المحب خروف”، يوم الثلاثاء الموافق ١٠ نوڤمبر في الساعة ال٧ مساءاً.
”بصلة المحب خروف“ هو معرض جماعي يدور حول الأمثال الشعبية العربية، و هي من أبرز أنواع الأدب الشعبي. الأمثال الشعبية نبعت من القصص و الحكاوي التراثية القديمة. و قد شاعت الآلاف من تلك الأمثال على ألسنة المصريين علی مر العصور و كانت تعكس عاداتهم و تقاليدهم و ظروف معيشتهم بل و أيضاً طرق تفكيرهم و معتقداتهم.
يناول الفنانين المشاركين بعض هذه الأمثال التراثية بمنظور إبداعي من خلال أعمالهم التي تعكس تحليلهم الشخصى لمعانيها التي توارثوها عبر العصور.

«بصلة المحب خروف» مثل مصري شهير يُقال للتعلية من شأن المحبة في العلاقات؛ فالـ”بصلة“ وهي من أبسط مكونات أي وجبة، إذا قُدِّمت بالمحبة فهي في عيني متلقيها كما لو كانت ”خروف“ كالذي يقدَّم في الولائم الكبيرة.
