“Fades Away”, A Solo Exhibition by Walid Taher |
|
In his body of work, titled "Fades Away", Taher once more seamlessly bridges the separate realms of visual art and the written word. In this collection, the artist set out to explore the verses of poetry by renowned poet Wadie Saadeh. It is the age-old unison of music and lyrics, using bold vivid colours to create an emotional symphony of art, words and meaning. |
Among a few select guests, Arts Mart held the opening night of Ukranian-born artist Max Vityk’s month long exhibit. Vityk’s visceral works and textured masterpieces wowed guests who were treated to a mini tour of the show by the artist himself.
Born in 1964, Max Vityk is an expressionist painter who has lived and worked around the world, including the US, Netherlands and Egypt.
His primary education in geology, combined with art training, greatly influenced his painting style, producing canvases with unique multilayers rock-like textures, energetic broad brushstrokes and naturally vibrant colors.
Vityk’s ‘Warrior of Light’ series was the star of the show. The 12 large-scale works are a labour of love, half of which were created in the Netherlands, with the other half created in Egypt.
The show also included some of Vityk’s highly emotive and fluid works such as the FL series and the Hallucination series.
