Yasmine Reda is an Egyptian artist born in 1992. She received her BA from Helwan university in Egypt and currently works as an assistant lecturer at the faculty of Fine Arts. She has a Masters of Arts in Décor with a focus on “Scenography” from the faculty of Fine Arts, Helwan university where she is currently a PhD student there.
Yasmine uses her artwork as an extension of the daily rhythm of life. She places contrasting elements and manipulates them to create a unique juxtaposition of mediums within her work. For Reda, exploring new creative ways to develop her work is a constant search within her practice, and she continues to grow stronger and stronger.
Yasmine's work was displayed in numerous art exhibitions in both Egypt and on a global scale. She has participated in exhibitions including: The sixth and eighth edition of the Sharjah children’s book illustrations exhibition in 2017 & 2019, in addition to the Prague Quadrennial of performance design and space in the city of Prague, Czech Republic in 2015.
She has also won awards such as: The Acquisition award from the Youth Salon exhibition at the Cairo Opera House in 2017 and the second-place award from Nahr El-Bahr exhibition at El-Sawy cultural-wheel in 2017. She considers teaching students art to have immensely driven her to practice and develop her own art. She has begun creating her own unique style, in which she combines her academic knowledge with a spontaneous approach of the use of surfaces and textures, as well as different materials and mediums.
