Wael Karem is a self-taught Sculptor. His passion for sculpting was ignited when he joined his family business in casting and molding sculptures for a variety of well established Arab artists.
In the duration of his work in the foundry, Wael’s innate talent was fed and inspired by the works he has witnessed in the making. He started his career at a young age by displaying his work for the first time in 2013 in “The Agenda Exhibition” held annually at Bibliotheca Alexandrina in Alexandria then followed by exhibiting his work at the “Salon for Young Artist 2015 ”, which is one of the leading annual exhibitions held by the Sector of Fine Arts.
Wael’s sculptures are an abstraction of daily life scenes that has inspired him and his work is signified with smooth organic contours that elicit softness and simplicity. His career was ignited and he continued to show his work at various exhibitions and moved on to receive various prizes for his work as well as being within the collection of various art patrons in Egypt.
