Soraya is an Egyptian artist born in 1962. She graduated from Helwan University Faculty of Fine Arts with High Honors and a Holder of Bachelor Degree of Fine Arts in Mural Painting Department 1985 .Soraya Refaat’s artworks are influenced by the many layers of civilizations that passed through her country “Egypt”, the grandiosity of the Ancient Egyptian Civilization, the spirituality of the Coptic and the Islamic Civilizations, all influenced and interacted with her vision and artistic sense, with her special tendency towards her abstract impressions of Arabic Calligraphy. She Participated in the implementation of the mosaic murals in the subway station of Tahrir Square and Executed other mosaic murals in her private collections. Soraya also participated in group exhibitions in Kuwait 1990 and in Egypt 1992 ,1993 , 2008, and held a very successful solo exhibition in February 2020 at the Cairo Opera house main exhibition Salah Taher hall. Her paintings are in private collections in Egypt, USA, UK, Bahrain and Dubai.In addition to continuing her artistic productions, she became involved in charity work since 2005, where she is a Member of the Board of Directors of “ Misr Society for the Protection of Women and Children” that sponsors 150 girls.
