Egyptian visual artist Salma Hesham creates abstract art as she sees it as an effective means for expressing her feelings and thoughts in both a spontaneous and chaotic way. She believes that art can reveal what’s kept hidden inside her, telling a lot about her personality. From this perspective, Hesham’s body of work can be seen as have an auto-biographical component that allows viewers of her work into her very thought process.
Born in 1995, Hesham graduated in 2019 from the Decorative Arts department of the Faculty of Applied Arts at Helwan University. Salma has since participated in group exhibitions at Cairo opera house, Greek Campus, and other locales.
