Born in Suhag, Upper Egypt in 1981, Salah Shaaban earned his BA from the department of sculpture of the Faculty of Fine Arts in Luxor in 2004, then his MA from Helwan University in 2009 and Phd in Philosophy of Art in 2013. He is currently a teaching assistant at the Faculty of Fine Arts in Luxor and member of the Artists Syndicate and Cairo Atelier.
Shaaban participated in several Group exhibitions, among them are the 14th Biennale of Port Said in 2009, The Youth Salon in 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013 and 2015, The Agenda Exhibition of Bibliotheca Alexandrina, the 2nd Nut Salon for Sculpture in 2019, The 1st Luxor Symposium in 2020, and The Annual Cairo Art Fair in 2019 and 2021. Salah has received many prizes and accolades and his work is among the permanent collections of the Museum of Modern Egyptian Art as well as other governmental and private institutions and art collectors.
