Rossana Corrado

Rossana Corrado is an esteemed Italian sculptor, currently based in Cairo, Egypt, whose artistic journey is deeply rooted in both her native Italy and her adopted homeland. With a profound academic foundation, Rossana began her educational pursuits at the Accademia di Belle Arti in Carrara, Italy. Here, in 1994, she earned a First Class Honors Degree in Sculpture, presenting a groundbreaking thesis titled "Puglia: architettura e immagini di uno spazio" (Apulia: Architecture, Images, and Space). This pivotal study explored the intricate intersections of Theory of Perception and Psychology of the visual form.

Before her formal education, Rossana laid the groundwork for her artistic inclinations with a High School Diploma in fine Arts from "Liceo Artistico (II sezione - Architettura)" in Brindisi, Italy. Additionally, she acquired a Teaching Certificate from Perugia, Italy, specializing in "Art Education," "Drawing," and "Art History."

Rossana's artistic prowess and dedication to her craft have been recognized internationally. She was awarded two prestigious scholarships by the Egyptian Government in collaboration with the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, enabling her to conduct personal research in Sculpture at Helwan University in Cairo, Egypt. 

Her artistic contributions extend beyond traditional sculpting. Rossana has served as the Art Director for significant projects such as The Great Zayed Memorial at the 57357 Children's Cancer Hospital in Cairo. Her involvement in the arts also encompasses her participation in the "Madinet el Fadela" project, supported by the Ministry of Culture in the Giza District.

A prolific exhibitor, Rossana's work has graced numerous international platforms, including prominent events like the Miami Art Week in Florida, U.S.A., the "Premio D’Arte Internazionale Michelangelo" in Florence, Italy, and "World Art Dubai" in the United Arab Emirates. Her exhibitions span from solo showcases at venues like the Extra Gallery and the Gezira Art Center in Cairo to group exhibitions across various renowned galleries in Italy and Egypt.

Rossana's commitment to fostering artistic dialogue extends beyond her sculptures. She has shared her insights and expertise through lectures, notably presenting "The Dialog between Rossana Corrado's paintings and sculptures" at the American University in Cairo. Additionally, she served as a Lecturer and Workshop-Manager at Helwan University's Faculty of Applied Arts, imparting knowledge in creativity training and design.

With a diverse portfolio that encapsulates both her Italian heritage and her enriching experiences in Cairo, Rossana Corrado continues to captivate audiences worldwide with her evocative sculptures, cementing her legacy as a distinguished artist bridging cultures and perceptions.
