Painter and sculptor Ramadan Abdel Metemed is very unique in that his art expresses a constant exploration of the Egyptian psyche. The dreams, ambitions, and challenges that Egyptians endure often serve as the foundation for much of his work. Particularly, the dream of a new Egypt - a free Egypt- serves as a recurrent subject for him.
Based in Luxor, Metemed is an Assistant Lecturer at the Faculty of Fine Arts in Luxor. He has participated in many exhibitions, including the 14th and 22nd Youth Salon, the 32nd General Exhibition at the Opera House, and many more. Some of his artworks are currently exhibited in the Museum of Modern Art in Cairo.
