Noha Nagui

Noha Nagui graduated from the Faculty of Fine Arts in 1992. Her visual experience revolves around interactions between man and time, through the use mixed techniques such as  drawing, painting, transferring or even soft sculpting she is able to intertwine them to create a new contemporary work; a work that often focuses on forms of the human being or body, or even as life experiences that pile up to reform the mental and physical state of the human being. Her concept prevails itself in her previous exhibition ‘Impossibilities’ in 2015, as well as in her exhibition ‘The Open Door’ in 2017 which drew attention to the impact of a specific period of time on the human form and its stance within a society. This has opened doors to a new visual perspective of social classes and how they leave emotionally inherited visions from the 50s and 60s.

Sometimes, her work can appear to interact and collide with topics of women and nature, such in her earlier Exhibitions “ The Cachet” in 2018 and “Mind The Step” for Dak'Art international African Art Biennale 2018. For Nagui, these topics are experiences that we as individuals and a society go through, which is what makes her body of work so intimate.
