Painter, collage artist, and educator Lamis Badr has, since 2003, explored the intimate immediate environments in acrylic, oil, and collage. Her works demonstrate the deconstruction of primary shapes and their rearrangement to create a personal narrative. Her
obsession with color "pastes" and blends is reminiscent of the alchemy process, where experimentation leads to different results each time, despite the seeming resemblance to original sources.
Born in Cairo in 1968, Badr holds a BA in Psychology from the American University in Cairo as well as a Diploma in Special Education from the American University in Beirut.
