Ihab Lotfy's body of work - which shows the prominent use of heavy line work – is inspired by Nubian and ancient Egyptian visuals. He uses simple lines and abstract colours with a palette that primarily consists of earth tones like black, brown, red, and white. Lotfy's technique comprises of layering several paints on top of wooden panels and proceeding to uncover these colours on the surface of his work.
Born in 1967 and raised in Cairo, Lotfy has participated in many group exhibitions and more than 10 solo exhibitions where he concentrated on the themes of Nubian traditions and settings.
