Expressionist Egyptian artist Hala El Sharouny has developed a body of work that can be characterised as both dynamic and playful in its techniques and its messages. It addresses contemporary social issues such as women and society with a twist of humour using a diverse and vibrant palette.
El Sharouny graduated from Cairo’s Helwan University in 2004 and holds an MA degree in painting and drawing. El Sharouny’s artwork has been exhibited in Egyptian and international art institutions at four solo exhibitions and several group shows. Her paintings are part of private collections in 19 countries including Egypt, France, Kuwait, USA, UAE, Canada, and Argentina.
