Hakeem is an Egyptian artist born in Alexandria in 1989. Hakeem Hakeem graduated from the Faculty of Fine Arts, Printmaking department, at Alexandria University in 2012. He is currently based in his home town where he leads an artistic career within Egypt and internationally.
Hakeem has participated in several group exhibitions locally and internationally and has held about 6 solo exhibitions. His work is within the collection of many art collectors and enthusiasts locally and internationally.
Hakeem's ideas stem from fantasy, others from reality with borrowed elements from myths and legends or even history through inherited culture or religious interpretations.
His work has strands of political, social, economic, scientific and historical elements clearly sewn through his artworks as he portrays personal or societal understandings and perspectives. He constantly searches for channels and avenues of expression that are appropriate, for both himself and current times. He believes that when it comes to honest art, ideas may be repeated but embodied and expressed in a unique and different fashion.
