Visual artist and film editor Esraa Elfeky’s objective in her work is to highlight the chaos of political, cultural, and economic life. In her oeuvre, she probes the impact of this chaos on society's moral compass and on people's minds. This is why she creates videos, paintings, street work, and installations, as she believes that contemporary art doesn't end at the borders of the mediums.
Born in 1989, Elfeky received her BA from the Faculty of Art Education in Cairo and currently works at the Arab contemporary arts channel, Medrar.TV. She won the Youth Salon Prize in 2016 for her first phase of a project, “Atlas of Distortion”; In 2019, Elfeky exhibited the third and final phase of that same project, “Attractive Weapon,” as part of the 2019 Roznama Competition.
