Developing a visual aesthetic that blends styles across cultures and eras, award-winning artist Aly Said sends a powerful message through his art regarding the value of such intercultural conversations. From the visual elements of the Italian Renaissance to incredible precision reminiscent of Mughal Indian miniatures, Said reveals his virtuosity as an artist in his ability to adopt so many motifs.
Born in Northern Egypt near the historical city of Rosetta, Said studied painting with the Faculty of Fine Arts at Alexandria University, where he also obtained an MA degree in 2012. He has enjoyed the showcase of his work in more than 60 group exhibitions and solo shows in Egypt and abroad. He has also worked as the assistant director of the Mahmoud Said Museum in Alexandria and as director of the Alexandria Fine Arts Museum.
